Follow up on a role that’s gone quiet

See which roles are waiting on someone else, and give each one a follow-up.

Every planDesktop and phone

Steps

  1. Find the quiet roles. In Pipeline, a card that’s waiting on someone else shows “Their move” and how many days. Sort by Quiet longest first to put the longest waits at the top.
  2. Open the role.
  3. Add a follow-up.Under Next action, choose Add next step. Name it, like “Follow up with Jordan”, and pick a date.
  4. Or add it from anywhere.Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows) and choose Add task.

Why it works this way

  • A role with no next step is the one that slips. A dated follow-up puts it back on your Overview the day it’s due.
  • Suggestions in the sidebar may also suggest “Follow up or close” for an application with no reply for 10 days or more. You decide whether to add it.
  • If a role has really ended, closing it keeps your Pipeline honest.

If something’s off

  • The follow-up isn’t on Overview. It shows on the day it’s due. Check its date in Tasks.
